While beaches are fun, sometimes the crowds, salt, and sand can be a bit much. If you’re looking for some splish-splash fun without feeling sand on everything for a week, these NJ waterparks are perfect! With over 12 outdoor options, you’ll definitely find one near you to bring the whole family.

Things to remember before heading to an NJ water park:

Before heading to a park, remember these few things!_

  • If you’re heading with littles, check the site to see what kind of offerings they have for kids who aren’t swimming yet.
  • Check with the water park to see if you are allowed to bring floaties or life jackets.
  • Come well equipped with sunscreen and towels! Most locations will sell you some there, but it’s going to be much pricier.
  • Same with snacks – if the park lets you, pack your own snacks or lunches.

Mountain Creek Water Park

Address: 200 Route 94, Vernon, NJ 07462

While you’ve probably been here for winter sports, the Vernon ski mountain also offers a waterpark in the summer. With over 20 different rides and slides, from slides with near vertical drops to cliff jumps to a kids section for those 48″ and under. There’s something for everyone at this family friendly spot.

Pricing: $29.99-$39.99/person. Kids under 2 are free.

Crystal Springs Family Waterpark

Address: 200 Route 94, Vernon, NJ 07462

This lesser-known park in East Brunswick is pretty unique in that it’s actually a municipal water park! With 5 different pools (kiddie, activity, lap, recreational, and family!) and tons to do, it’s one you should add to your list ASAP. Make sure to hit the splash pad, lazy river, numerous water slides.

Pricing: $12-24/person, with East Brunswick residents getting a discount. Children under 2 are free.

Land of Make Believe and Pirate’s Cove

Address: 354 Great Meadows Rd, Hope, NJ 07844

Hidden away in Warren county, this water and amusement park is perfect for families with kiddos under 13. With lots of water slide rides for big kids, a great ankle to knee high pool for littles with slides to climb on, and Pirate’s Cove, a pirate themed water play ground, the whole family will love one of our favorite water parks in NJ. Don’t forget to grab a tube and hit the lazy river!

Hurricane Harbor

Address: 354 Great Meadows Rd, Hope, NJ 07844

Tucked within famous Six Flags Great Adventure, this waterpark in NJ is a can’t miss. Bring littles to enjoy family friendly attractions like a huge, zero-entry pool, Carribean Cove splash pad, and a lazy river. Big kids and adults will love rides like Jurahnimo Falls, with it’s 75 foot drop, a giant wave pool, and Bada Bing, Bada Bang, Bada Boom with 3 intertwined slides.

Pricing: $39.99-49.99/person. Children under 2 are free.

Runaway Rapids

  • Address: 275 Beachway Ave, Keansburg, NJ 07734

Conveniently located in northern Monmouth County (making it one of the closer options to North Jersey!) with amusement and water park is perfect for a day of fun. Littles will love the interactive play area with water 0″-12″, and the Toddler’s Reef. Meanwhile, big kids and kids at heart the over 10 heart poundingly exciting water slides.

Splashplex at the FunPlex

With 2 locations (East Hanover and Mt. Laurel) you’re sure to find something for everyone at Splashplex! Each location differs slightly, but the fun is there no matter which one you choose. From a lazy river to speed slides and open and enclosed tube slides, your family will love this NJ waterpark. The East Hanover location also offers an interactive play area for littles.

Breakwater Beach at Casino Pier

Located right on the Seaside Heights Boardwalk, this large water attraction gives you the unique opportunity to enjoy a waterpark and an NJ beach. Little love the zero-entry wave pool and interactive, multi-level play area, while big kids and grown-ups will love racing each other on Patriot’s Plunge and the 50-foot speed slide, Salem’s Scream!

Tomahawk Lake Water Park

Possible the most unique water parks in NJ, this option gives you a bit of a summer camp or family camping vacation vibe! Right on a lake, you can expect many of the slides to dump you right into the lake. From a 4 person flume ride to numerous tube slides, the lake options use the mountain and lake to create an almost natural waterpark. There are also options that dump into a chlorinated pool.

Ocean Oasis and Raging Waters on Morey’s Piers

  • Address: 3501 Boardwalk, Wildwood, NJ 08260

Morey’s Piers on the Wildwood Boardwalk offers not one, but TWO waterparks! At the Ocean Oasis Water Park and Beach Club, parents can enjoy a swim up bar while kids try 7 different slides and 2 different activity areas. Raging Waters hosts 6 slides and 4 different activity areas, including a water obstacle course. And remember, Wildwood is a free beach in NJ, so after you can wander the boardwalk and get sand in your toes.
